Burton Road
At Burton Road, we transformed a tired seven-bedroom HMO into a contemporary ten-bedroom co-living scheme. We secured planning permission to increase occupancy to twelve residents, delivering nine studio rooms and one en-suite bedroom.
The previously unused basement was reimagined as a sociable communal floor — complete with a cinema room and open-plan kitchen and dining space — designed to encourage connection among residents.
Purchased off-market and brought to us at an early stage, Burton Road is a great example of what's possible when design and planning strategy work hand in hand.
We worked closely with the client to successfully increase the scheme from seven to ten lettable bedrooms, with consent for twelve residents — significantly improving rental yield and long-term investment value, while creating a home that residents actually want to spend time in.
"We had worked with Matt previously, but this was one of the first larger-scale projects we undertook together. He demonstrated a strong understanding of local planning requirements, particularly in addressing challenges around communal space provision, which he successfully justified to the planning officer and secured planning permission. Matt also managed the discharge of planning conditions for the scheme. Off the back of this experience, we continue to work closely with Matt across a range of residential, heritage and co-living projects."
