Alder House
Alder House is a five-bedroom countryside home arranged as three blocks around a central courtyard.
The largest contains an open-plan kitchen, dining, and living space, while the two smaller blocks house the bedrooms and bathrooms.
Outside, black corrugated sheeting and expansive glazing reference the local agricultural vernacular and frame views across the river and surrounding landscape. Inside, warm timber floors and rich timber joinery create a welcoming contrast to the bold exterior.
Designed for multigenerational family life, the layout balances open, connected living with private individual retreat.
The shared spaces flow outward to the gardens and landscape beyond, while the courtyard offers a sheltered space for quieter moments. Bedroom blocks give each generation their own space, without losing the sense of togetherness at the heart of the home.
The result is a home that feels rooted in its setting — bold from the outside, warm and welcoming inside.
