Hill Top Farm

Hill Top Farm is a sensitive rural conversion that transforms redundant agricultural buildings on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds into a striking and highly accessible home.

The two original structures are retained and repurposed — one as the main living space, the other as bedrooms — while two new timber-clad additions create further living and bedroom accommodation.

Our design breathes new life into redundant farm buildings, giving each space a clear purpose while keeping the building's agricultural character firmly intact. Two large openings in the main barn become the new entrances, with a clear connection through the building, and the natural timber cladding sits in considered contrast alongside the original red brick and clay pantiles.

Direct access to the surrounding countryside from key internal areas blurs the line between inside and out, reinforced by a new landscaping scheme and courtyard garden that were central to the clients' vision for their home.

What sets this project apart is that the entire home has been designed to meet M4(3) wheelchair accessibility standards — meaning it works for a wide range of lifestyles, both now and in the future.
